Bike for the Environment II, Save, Heal, Restore the Marikina Watershed

Executive Summary:

Biking enthusiasts braved challenging terrain to participate in the Bike for the Environment 2, which aims to raise public awareness on the rehabilitation of the Marikina Watershed.

PTT Philippines Foundation, Inc. partnered with Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) and Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation, (PDRF) organizer of the event. Bike for the Environment is the second in a series of biking events that aim to save, heal and restore the Marikina Watershed. The bike race held last December 16, 2013 started and ended at Pintong Bukawe in San Mateo, Rizal

Subic Shore It Up! International Coastal Clean-Up 2012

Executive Summary:

PTT Volunteers along with more than half a million people across the globe, united with the common purpose of starting a sea of change. The activity took place last September 15, 2012 starting 6am, from the boardwalk to The Lighthouse Marina Resort. Different organizations from both private and corporate sectors took part in the International Coastal Cleanup to remove trash and debris from the Subic Bay shorelines.

Mission of Hope Relief Operations (Brgy. Regalado, Fairview, Quezon City)

Executive Summary:

In an effort to alleviate the discomfort brought about by widespread flooding caused by torrential rains "Habagat", particularly in Metro Manila, PTT Philippines Foundation Inc. (PTTPFI) mobilized relief operation - “Mission of Hope” at Barangay Regalado, Fairview, Quezon City last August 16, 2012. PTT Volunteers headed by PTT CEO and President Khun Wisarn Chawalitanon and PTT Foundation President Mr. Paul Senador, distributed relief goods to the affected families seeking refuge in an evacuation center.

“Tree For Unity” Tree Planting Project

Project Delivered: Simultaneously planted 10,000 seedlings

Executive Summary:

PTTPFI together with other multi-sectoral organizations, NGOs and corporate and business sectors, participated in the simultaneous planting of trees in the Municipality of Hermosa, Bataan. This activity is in support of Pres. Benigno S. Aquino III’s National Greening Program.

2nd Mt. Malasimbu National Open Duathlon

Executive Summary:

The 2nd Mt. Malasimbu National Open Duathlon was successfully held in Dinalupihan, Bataan last June 16, 2012. The event’s main objective is to support the rehabilitation efforts of Mt. Malasimbu from degradation due to natural and man-made causes. Embedded in the duathlon race is a tree planting activity at the “PTT” Tree Planting Site at Mt. Malasimbu. As part of PTT’s CSR Project and in cooperation with PTT Philippines Foundation, Inc., PTT supported the event as the official corporate sponsor.

Mt. Natib Flora Adventure Haunt

Targeted Beneficiary: Mt. Natib, Bataan Natural Park
Project Delivered: PTT Volunteers participated during the environmental team competition

Executive Summary:

“Mt. Natib Flora Adventre Haunt” is an environmental team competition organized by Mga Bayani ng Kalikasan and Tarak Travel Events Koordinator. It aims to recognize the valuable works and contributions of the late Leonardo Co who published a book of the various flora found in Mt. Natib, Bataan Natural Park. Further, the event served also as an avenue in launching the GPS driven smart apps developed by WideOut Technology Services Inc, an environment technological gadget that will start the systematized and organized documentation of the flora as well as the fauna at Mt. Natib Bataan Natural Park.

The competition was held last March 31-April 1, 2012, which started at Sinagtala Resort and Retreat Park, Tala, Orani, Bataan and ended at Bataan Technological Park Inc. at Morong, Bataan. The teams were required to take pictures of the different flora at Mt. Natib using the published book of Leonardo Co as reference. The team with the most number of flora pictures won the game.
