Gas up for P1,000 at PTT and they will plant a tree for you. Not only that, every tree that you donate will be named after you. Plus you can even monitor the growth and exact location of your tree on a mobile app!

PTT Philippines and its foundation PTT Philippines Foundation, Inc. in partnership with DENR, National Commission for Indigenous People (NCIP), National Research Council of the Philippines, Bataan Peninsula State University, Mga Bayani ng Kalikasan, BCDA, and Wide Out Technology is out to plant at least 10,000 seedlings of fruit bearing trees, dipteracarps – lawaan, apitong, narra, and other hardwood species in some 50 hectares of the denued land in Sito Kanawan, Morong Bataan.

Their local partner in this project are the Magbukun Tribe, they will be the one to take care of nursery of the seedlings to be planted, giving them livelihood during the campaign. The project “Gas Up for a Tree” will initially reforest 20 hectares of land and seeks to add 30 more hectares after the first phase of implementation.

To join this environmental campaign spearheaded by PTT Philippines, any motorist can start to gas up beginning May 23, 2013. The campaign will last until August 23, 2013. You can either earn one tree by singlereceipt or accumulated purchases.

The launch was attended by all stake holders including the representative from the Office of the President represented by Presidential Adviser for Environmental Protection Neric Acosta, Thailand Ambassador to thePhilippines Prasas Prasasvinitchhai, and PTT executives.
