PTT Philippines Foundation, Inc. (or the "Foundation") was registered with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission on August 29, 2007 as a non-stock, non-profit philanthropic organization funded primarily by annual donations from PTT Philippines, Corp. and PTT Philippines Trading Corp.(collectively, the "Corporations")
PTT Philippines Foundation, Inc. is formed in order to help improve the quality of life — now and in the future — in the communities where the Corporations have a presence, i.e., Metro-Manila, National Capital Region, Cebu City, Olongapo City, Bataan, Zambales and Pampanga Provinces, or where they or any of the Corporations may establish presence (hereinafter the "Covered Communities"). The Foundation's programs reflect a commitment to play an active role in those areas and give back to future generations by, initially, implementing a Community Environmental Protection Program, which shall include reforestation and tree-planting activities.
The Foundation believes that every individual has a social responsibility of nurturing and sustaining the biodiversity. In this regard, the foundation takes initiative mitigating environmental damages by being proactively involved in various activities concerning environmental protection. Furthermore, the Foundation also initiates in mobilizing Disaster Relief Operations during calamities and helps improve the quality of life of the surrounding communities thru its Community and Sports Development programs.
Eventually, the Foundation intends to expand its charitable agenda to include, among others, a Community Educational Advancement Program, composed of scholarship grants for indigents and underprivileged children.
The Foundation, which is operated as an independent and separate legal entity, is governed by a Board of Trustees (the “Board”). The Board, comprised of officers of PTT Philippines Corp. and PTT Philippines Trading Corp., reviews the program guidelines on an annual basis.
The Foundation Executive Director, appointed by the Board, manages the day-to-day operations of the Foundation and its programs. The Foundation staff administers the programs.
In addition, the Foundation continuously coordinate and cooperate with the national and local government units of the covered communities for the proper implementation of the latter's various programs concerning environment, education, disaster relief operations, and sports and community development.
The guidelines and mechanisms for the implementation of the Foundations initiatives varies depending on the results of negotiations, cooperation and synergy with respective local government units.
